Hello! I am Ellie! I am a 20-something year young British cosplayer, writer and enthusiast from Nottingham!

I like to write about the general cosplay scene in the United Kingdom. Costume construction, events I attend, hacks, my opinions about debates that have been floating about and healthy living are what I cover. I have no formal affiliation or authority at any events but I just love spreading my knowledge of the subject!

How did this blog begin? It was once an information pack that I have written on Wordpad for friends that will be attending a convention for the first time.I added stuff bit by bit and come to realise that I have enough content to make a webpage out of. Much of the content was copy/pasta'd from the original guide under the categories listed in the navigation. I have been an active blogger on a number of social networking sites and portfolios since I was 13 so I add random content to the 'blog' here and there to keep things fun and random.

I also like to see myself as an ambassador for cosplay freedom; people should feel relaxed about who they cosplay, regardless of age, body type, race...ect. Confidence was an issue during my earlier cosplay days so I wish for others who feel the same to feel supported and encouraged to carry on and persevere like I did.

How did I get into cosplay you ask? Back in the old days of AOL and Kazza I was a (very, very) keen fan of Final Fantasy. As soon as I got internet in my own home I often stumbled onto images of 'cosplayers'. I knew right away that it was something I would like to do but sadly at the time I did not have the resources or money to take part in it.

I finally had my own money coming in when I started studying for my A-levels. At the time I also wanted to experience what was known as a 'anime convention'. Like an idiot I signed up and paid for AmeCon 08 without knowing anyone but thankfully after attending a local event where thankfully people were attending I never knew that cosplay and conventions would become an ongoing thing in life.

My other hobbies include drawing, anime, manga, sleeping, blogging, studying rare diseases, astronomy (mostly cool planets and stuff), character/game design and illustration. I am also an animal lover too!
